Are you ready to begin your sewing journey? 💕🪡 In this Introduction Class, students will begin developing their essential foundation sewing skills through the KKDA Skill Set Tasks, starting with “The Sash.” At KKDA, we believe that learning the foundations of sewing is an important part of every student's creative journey. These essential skills help build confidence, accuracy, patience and consistency, preparing students for a more stress-free and enjoyable sewing experience as they progress to future projects. The Sash is a practical skill-building task designed to help students prepare for their sewing journey, practise following drawn lines and shapes, and become familiar with the importance of accuracy and control. Remember, every confident sewist starts with the basics. Take your time, enjoy the learning process, and celebrate each new skill you develop! 🌟 🧵 MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED Before beginning the online tutorial, please collect the following materials: 1 piece of felt: 1.5 metres long × 20 cm wide 1 reel of white cotton thread 1 pin 1 ruler 1 Sharpie marker (for drawing your lines, shapes and guidelines) ✏️ PREPARING YOUR SASH BEFORE STARTING THE TUTORIAL Before pressing play, please prepare your felt sash and complete the following drawing activities using your Sharpie marker. Step 1: Draw a straight line Draw one straight line measuring 30 cm long. Place one dot at each end of the line. Step 2: Draw a zigzag line Underneath your straight line, draw a zigzag line. Place one dot at the beginning and one dot at the beginning and one dot at the end of the zigzag. Step 3: Draw a square Draw one square and place a dot at one point (corner) of the square. Step 4: Draw a triangle Draw one triangle and place a dot at one point (corner) of the triangle. Step 5: Draw a circle Draw one circle and place a dot on the drawn circle. Step 6: Write your first name in CAPITAL LETTERS.
